For the past few months we’ve been working on a dream project! During our many years of non-profit work on the Tibetan Plateau, one of our greatest desires was to find ways to bring employment to Tibetan living in poverty. Most of our work was oriented toward the future in projects such as education and environmental preservation. But we often saw people in dire circumstances that so needed opportunity to increase their family’s income immediately.Today, we are beginning to provide that opportunity!
By the end of the summer, we will be training and employing Tibetan villagers to make handcrafted stitch markers using traditional Tibetan beads. The project will bring a real source of income to families who desperately need it, and will provide beautiful knitting accessories for knitters right here in America.
But before we get started, we need help!If you are interested in learning more about this great project and even helping us kickstart it, check out our project page on Kickstarterhttps://www.kickstarter.com/projects/44743247/handcrafted-tibetan-stitch-markers And don’t forget to share it on Facebook!!!
